Ronald R. Parry

Ronald R. Parry, 82, died December 17, 2015.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Andrew and Annie Theresa (Dignam) Parry.

Ronald served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Following military service, he began a career in the automotive industry working for Ford and General Motors and then had 24 years with American Motors where he was director of interior design. He was also director of engineering for Tricon Industries.

An award-winning landscape and seascape painter, he began a second career as a professional artist and gallery owner. Ronald, along with his wife Monique, owned and operated the Parry Gallery & Studio in Boothbay Harbor. His continuing education took him to France to study classical oil painting.

Ronald and Monique moved to The Villages in Florida in 2012 where he continued to paint. Ronald was a Signature Member of the American Society of Marine Artist, Oil Painters of America, New England Watercolor Society, Rockport Artist Association of Rockport, Massachusetts, North Shore Artist Association, Gloucester, Massachusetts and The Villages Friday Morning Portrait Sketch Group at Pimlico. He was founder of the Plein Air Painters of Maine and was a communicant and usher at St. Timothy Catholic Church.

Ronald leaves his wife of 26 years, Monique Parry; sons, Scott Parry of Venice, Florida; Gregory Parry of Birmingham, Michigan; Kurt Parry (Jennifer) of Wixom, Michigan; daughter, Andrea Murray of Pinckney, Michigan; step-children, Gabrielle Ventra of Saratoga Springs, New York; David Fath of Tampa, Florida; Christopher Fath of Corpus Christi, Texas; 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Davis, and his brother, William Parry.

A Memorial Mass was held on Monday, December 21 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, The Villages. In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
