Robert E. Byrnes, 86, of Southport, died peacefully at St. Andrews Village on Sept. 10, 2016 with his loving family beside him. He was born in Bronx, N.Y. on Aug. 25, 1930, to the late John and Roberta Byrnes.

He had a dedicated career working for the F.B.I for over 31 years.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary.

He is survived by his son, Michael  Byrnes and his wife Cathy of Methuen, MA., daughter Ginny Spurgin and her husband Robert of Boothbay; grandchildren, Matthew Spurgin and Kaitlyn McClellan and sister, Diane DeVito and her husband Rocky DeVito and sister-in-law Eileen Byrnes, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

A family memorial service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held in the spring of 2017.

Friends are invited to make memorial contributions in Robert’s memory to St. Andrews Village.
