River Arts’ ‘Mainly Maine’ exhibition seeks artists

River Arts in Damariscotta, is inviting artists to submit work — all media, sculpture and fine crafts welcome — for its upcoming “Mainly Maine” Exhibition. Work can be submitted during gallery hours anytime up to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1.

Artists can enter up to 3 works for jurying.  All work entered must be for sale. Wall-hung work size maximum: 60 inches in height, 42 inches in width. For safety reasons plexiglass or other non-glass option should be used for work over 34 inches, excluding pastels.

There is a $15 entry fee for members and $20 entry fee for non-members. Entry forms are available online www.riverartsme.org or at the gallery.

The opening reception is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 7, from 5-7. The exhibition will hang until Sept. 3.

The juror for this show will be Andy Curran artist, founder and director of the former Saccarappa Art Collective in Westbrook and longtime owner of Dog Star Creations.

River Arts is located at 241 U.S. Route 1 in Damariscotta. Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
