Dear Editor:

The legacy with which Dr. John Andrews left this community is probably unrivaled in all of our collective history. He was a man of honor, skill, love, compassion and dedication, and each and every one of us who lived here in his term of service will be ever grateful for the soft-spoken giant who was John F. Andrews.

We can do no more to honor his devotion to us all than to find a way, individually or collectively, to restore a 24/7 local Boothbay Region Emergency Room and allied ambulance service in his memory! The difficult he did immediately, the impossible took him a little longer. Can we do any less?
