    Dear Editor:

I just received my monthly package of the Boothbay Register. Occasionally it takes six weeks for it to arrive.

For more than 40 years, Ms. Pigette and our family exchanged friendly welcomes and farewells every time when we passed her home. It was with great interest that I read her recent conversation with the "Old Goat news person." In case you missed the subject article, it dealt with her advice as to how to choose our next president. I must say that I was surprised and disappointed. I am not a Republican or a Democrat. I voted in every presidential election since Adlai Stevenson in 1952. I voted Democrat and I voted Republican. God willing, I will vote again in November.

I respect Ms. Pigette's right to her opinion, however, I am surprised at her decision to share her clearly partisan views with the "Old Goat news person" for publication in a wonderful hometown newspaper.

"Ms. Pigette, continue to joyfully welcome us to Boothbay and leave politics to political pundits."
