Dear Editor:

I am appalled and deeply saddened by the mass destruction that has taken place in the Boothbay Common area. Terms such as “tear down, uninhabitable and dilapidated” are being used to justify the extreme razing of local buildings. All of this in the name of progress? By whose measure?

I know that “money talks,” but that doesn’t mean we always have to like the language that it speaks.
