Boothbay Harbor Police Chief Robert Hasch said Wednesday that one of his officers responded to a call at 6:01 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, about a woman who had fallen out of her wheelchair on School Street.

"When the officer arrived, he found Kathy Fish, 55, of Boothbay Harbor had fallen over into a ditch on a side of road, was still in her motorized wheelchair, and was unresponsive,” Hasch said.

Hasch said that neighbors assisted the officer in helping to get Fish out of the motorized wheelchair while the Boothbay Region Ambulance Service was en route.

BRAS attended to Fish, who was eventually brought to the Maine Medical Center in Portland, where she died on Tuesday, July 22.

"We did a full investigation and found no foul play regarding the accident," said Hasch. "We wish to thank the neighbors and BRAS for all they did in helping with this accident."
