An accident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on Memorial Day at the intersection of Union Street and Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor.

According to Boothbay Harbor Police Officer Devon Polizzotti, a vehicle from Massachusetts failed to come to a stop and entered Townsend Avenue, where it collided with a northbound rental vehicle from Texas.

Both cars were driven by men and their wives were passengers; no serious injuries were reported, but one of the passengers was taken to Miles Memorial Hospital complaining of neck pain.

Both vehicles were towed. Names of those involved were not immediately released.
