Ocean Point Column

Traditionally the week following Labor Day is a quiet one, and this year is no exception. The weather is spectacular and still remains summerlike.

You can see that things are beginning to wind down here at the Point as many of the boat moorings are empty and traffic is much lighter.

The chapel remains busy with many fall weddings ahead.

Congratulations to John Waldman and Lucy Liu on their recent wedding at the Wilson Memorial Chapel. Family and friends gathered on Saturday, Sept. 6 to celebrate with them and their daughter Le Le.

The tennis courts are still seeing some play as is the playground area and the dog gathering in the morning.

Thank you to Prudence Dawson for her assistance in getting the Casino cleaned for the season.

It was great to see Mike McGonegal here vacationing last week and Chris and Marilyn Ross are here as well. The annual Martin/Ross reunion was held this past weekend at the Ross cottage.

Jean Webster and Pat McHold along with eight others attended the Lincoln Arts Poetry workshop recently which was led by former Maine poet laureate Betsy Scholl.

This is, of course, the anniversary of Sept. 11. I hope you will all take a moment to remember those who died on that day and the families that are left behind.
