Ocean Point Column: Water’s on, weather and more

Wed, 04/26/2017 - 10:30am

There is great news this past week; Ocean Pointers are now able to return for the season thanks to the Boothbay Region Water District who worked diligently to resume seasonal water to not only Ocean Point residents but also all of the Boothbay area. Thank you for all your hard work and effort.

In the off season we often think about our return date as I’m sure many of you do, so we were thrilled to learn that we could indeed return if only for a short visit.

It was relatively quiet on Saturday due in part to the weather which was rainy and cold but car and foot traffic increased dramatically on Sunday as the weather turned more season-like. I’m sure residents will begin to return with the improvement of the temperatures.

Fiona Dunlap and her partner Greg Warlo will be reopening Harborside Tavern for the season on Thursday, May 4 serving dinner only on that day. Friday, May 5 lunch and dinner will be served and on Saturday and Sunday, May 6 and 7 breakfast, lunch and dinner will be offered. Harborside Tavern will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays for the month of May serving lunch and dinner Wednesday through Friday. Full service will be available on weekends in May.

Just as a reminder, please be sure to check out the new OP website and remember to join or renew your membership. Also, if you are not returning to the Point until Memorial Day weekend, please plan to attend the Town Hall meeting on Sunday, May 28 at 4 p.m. There will be a presentation by the Architectural and Long Range Planning Committees at that time.

    Have a great week!
