It was again a very busy week here at the Point. Thank you to the following people for chairing activities: Maureen Driscoll and Liz Dawson for the Kid’s Picnic and to Doreen Dun for a wonderful tour of the Rock Property on Middle Road. Holly Hornor and Barbara Newell chaired a very successful Attic Treasure Sale so thank you to both ladies and to all who assisted on Thursday and Friday.

We had a huge turnout on Friday evening for the Scavenger Hunt. First Place went to Caroline Driscoll, Sophia McGranaghan and Iris Williams. Second place went to Al and Owen Dawson and Mark Pacquette and third place went to Addie Cleary, Jane Dawson and Natalie Pacquette.

Thanks to Andy Hamblett for stepping in to run the BBQ grill on Sunday. A big thanks as well to Muffy Pacquette and to Dave and Sam Kern for their grilling assistance. The Sunday softball game resulted in the Plummer team defeating the Dawson team 12-6. Matt Plummer and Kyle Rush both made outstanding plays.

Please remember the food sale on Friday, Aug. 1 chaired by Gail Ross. Bring your items to the Casino by 8:30 a.m. The second Pancake Breakfast will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2 from 8:30-10 a.m. thanks to the Hamblett family.

Rev. J. Bradley Mitchell will conduct Sunday services on August 3 at the Wilson Memorial Chapel. Rev. Wilson is Minister Emeritus, Unitarian Universalist Church in Brunswick.

The Lindley Family will host the second Kid’s Picnic and Games on Monday, Aug. 4, at 5 p.m. and Jim Dun will take us all on a tour of the Ocean Point Preserve on Wednesday, Aug. 6. Marine Artist Donald Demers will once again share his time and talent for a painting demonstration on Thursday, Aug. 6 beginning at 8:30 a.m. gathering at the Casino. There is a fee for this workshop and all are welcome.

On Saturday evening, Aug. 9, the second Porch Party will take place at the Casino beginning at 5:30 p.m. Please BYO and an appetizer to share.

It’s wonderful to see so many OP families here on vacation. Enjoy your time and the weather. Have a great week.
