Oak Hill defeats Boothbay, 4-1

The visiting Oak Hill Raiders (9-1) scored three first half goals, kept Boothbay Region from attempting many shots on goal, and went on to win, 4-1, at Perkins Field Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 28. 

Erika Hannigan scored Oak Hill’s first two goals, at 25:09 and 4:56, with both assists credited to Abby Asselin. The Raiders’ third goal, unassisted, was scored with 47 seconds to play in the 30-minute half by Mercedes Pease.

The Raiders went ahead 4-0 when Hayden Spencer scored an unassisted goal at 15:28 of the second half.

Boothbay, now 5-4-1, avoided handing Oak Hill its seventh shutout of the season with a goal at the 4:59 mark. Page Brown pushed the ball into the goal on a pass from Chloe Arsenault.

Boothbay also lost to the Raiders earlier in the season in Wales, 5-1. Dirigo gave Oak Hill, which leads the Class C South division, its only loss, 1-0, in Wales.

The Seahawks, who have lost three straight games, will try for their sixth win at Winthrop on Friday, Sept. 30 at 3:30 p.m. Winthrop (8-1-1) and Boothbay tied 1-1 at Perkins Field on Sept. 12.
