Edgecomb Planning Board member David Nutt has a new role and job within municipal government. Nutt was both appointed to the ordinance review committee and named chairman during the June 6 planning board meeting. Nutt succeeds Barry Hathorne as ORC chairman. Hathorne became planning board chairman last month and requested another person lead the ORC.

The planning board also nominated four other ORC members, a vice chairman and two alternates. The board re-appointed current ORC members Skip White and Sue Carlson and appointed former planning board member Jack French and Barb Gibson who was later appointed vice-chairman.

In other action, the board approved a landscaping permit for Steve Doyon and Paula Valenza who own the 669 Ocean Point Road property. The project also includes an outdoor cooking and entertainment space. 

The board also approved a “cheat sheet” for all applications. It lists all required documents and reminds applicants to make sure setbacks are met, and that applications include the number of parking spaces, sight distance for traffic analysis, surface water drainage provisions, and make sure water and sewer are available, and water lines are underground.

The board meets next at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20 in the municipal building.
