Nutrition is topic for July 27 LincolnHealth diabetes support group

Mon, 07/18/2016 - 9:00am

LincolnHealth Registered Dietitian Elisabeth Mills, RD, LD will discuss the role of nutrition in controlling diabetes at the July 27 meeting of the LincolnHealth Diabetes Support group.
The LincolnHealth Diabetes Support Group meets at 1 p.m., usually on the fourth Wednesday of every other month, on the third floor of the Miles Campus of LincolnHealth in the Diabetes Education Room

Knowing what to eat when you have diabetes can be confusing; with many often-conflicting messages about what foods are best. The key for most people with diabetes, whether they have type 1 or type 2, is to understand how to make the most of their choices.

Mills will discuss the crucial link between food and blood sugar and how people can lower their risk of serious health impacts.

The LincolnHealth Diabetes Support Group meetson the third floor of the Miles Campus of LincolnHealth to share experiences and send the message that no one should have to deal with diabetes alone.
