Joint statement from Boothbay/Boothbay Harbor

Notice to residents, merchants and visitors

Fri, 05/12/2017 - 11:00am

It was recently announced that the DOT construction schedule in Boothbay will extend past Memorial Day into the month of June. Boothbay Town Manager Dan Bryer and I would like to assure everyone that we are very sensitive to the impact that this construction has on the flow of traffic in and out of our region. This development was not the original plan.

Traffic flow is a serious priority for all of us especially during the busy summer months. Our goal is always to minimize the negative impact to residents, merchants and visitors. We will do our best to adapt and respond to this construction schedule extension. I assure you that all of our town officials, boards of selectmen, public works departments and all public safety employees will continue to work collaboratively together in conjunction with Department of Transportation to minimize delays and inconvenience. We will continue to work together to provide clear helpful signage and to continue to explore ways to lower the impact during high traffic volume times.

We will do our best to keep everyone informed of construction information as it becomes available. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you all for your patience.

    Thomas Woodin

    Town Manager
