Not enough napkins

Wed, 07/01/2015 - 3:00pm

    Dear Editor:

It was such a beautiful morning on Thursday that I decided to take a morning walk at Ocean Point.  As I was walking back to my car, I noticed something sticking up from my windshield wiper. It was a napkin from Starbucks and scrawled on it was “Not Hillary, you idiot!”  Now I’m perplexed.  I’m wondering if they mistook my car for someone else’s and they thought I was mad at a Hillary. I really didn’t know what to make of it.

My husband reminded me that I have a bumper sticker on my car that says “A woman’s place is in the White House, House and Senate.”  The person was apparently referring to Hillary Clinton. Now I’m wondering when we got to the point that people feel it’s necessary or desirable to comment on every thing they don’t agree with. Civility has surely disappeared from some people’s world view. Personally, I don’t have enough napkins to leave notes on every car that has a bumper sticker I don’t agree with!

To the person who left the note, unless you have the courage to say something to my face, you’re invited to keep your opinion on your napkin in your own car.
