Primary Residential Mortgage has opened a branch at 37 Court Street in Bath.

“Our mission is to be a nationally respected, locally known home loan company whose purpose is to finance your homeownership goals through a positive and personal experience,” said branch manager Laura Hiestand.

Hiestand has been a mortgage banker in Maine for over 21 years and has written mortgages in every county in the state. Prior to being a mortgage banker, she was a Realtor, so she brings that experience to homebuyers.

Most recently a top producer at Key Bank, she is now excited to be able to offer her services to all her past clients and friends through her new centralized office.

In addition, Randall “Randy” Vail, has joined her as her loan assistant and loan officer trainee. Vail most recently worked at Key Bank as a personal banker.

Vail has previous experience as a licensed financial advisor, and with Hiestand, hopes to use their combined skills to assist clients with choosing the most appropriate loan as an aspect of short and long term financial planning.

Hiestand lives in Bath and with her partner, Mark Akeley, chickens, two dogs and two cats. She has a bachelor's degree in small business management from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is also a certified mortgage planner.

Vail lives in Boothbay Harbor and is a proud Boothbay Region High School Seahawk.  He is a graduate of Randolph Macon College in Virginia with a bachelor's in business and managerial economics.

The office phone number is 207-370-6006 and Vail and Hiestand are looking forward to meeting neighbors and growing the business.
