During the month of March, paintings by local artist Nathan Campbell will be on display at Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library’s (BHML) second floor community room.

Campbell’s work has continued to gain recognition throughout his lifetime. In 1983, when he was a junior at Boothbay Region High School, Nathan was awarded first place in Maine’s First District Congressional Art Competition. His work was awarded third place in Artist’s Magazine’s Best Art of 2001, Still Life Category. The following year Nathan was selected as one of the Top Artists of 2002 by Pastel Journal.

More recently, Nathan’s acrylics have not only been selected for exhibit in the Boothbay Region Art Foundation’s (BRAF) annual juried show, ArtInME; but he has won the show’s People’s Choice Award three times, including 2017.

He regularly shows his work at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation gallery and at the Red Cup Coffee House, both in Boothbay Harbor, during the summer season. Currently, several selected pieces of Campbell’s work can be seen in the dining area at Caper’s Deli on Townsend Avenue.

Nathan Campbell’s gallery/studio space, East Side Gallery West, at 11 Commercial St. (over Orne’s Candy Store), is open by appointment. He is also available for art lessons and commission work. Call 207-350-6657 or visit www.ncartist36.com for more information and to view his fine art prints.

The Library, located at 4 Oak St., is open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
