Wed, 01/20/2016 - 10:45am

On Tuesday, Jan. 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the Boothbay Railway Village kicks off its winter lectures series with a program all about Maine’s lighthouses. These romantic symbols of our past hold much history. Maine has over 60 lighthouses – learn some of their history, hear of daily life routines, hardships, traditions and more. Sally Lobkowicz, well known locally as “The Lady in the Red Cloak” who leads Haunted History Tours in nine Maine coastal villages as well as Haunted Lighthouse Tours, will share some slides, answer these questions and more.

Lobkowicz is a seasoned researcher with a flair for public speaking. A teacher with a passion for history and genealogy, she also writes for Lincoln County Magazine. Lobkowicz has led several lighthouse tours throughout the state and narrates Haunted Lighthouse Cruises for Maine Maritime Museum, as well as their Cemetery Trolley Tours.

The talk will take place inside the historic 1847 Boothbay Town Hall at the Boothbay Railway Village. A donation of $5 is suggested for admission. A warm beverage and homemade cookies will be provided for guests. The Boothbay Railway Village is located at 586 Wiscasset Road, Route 27 in Boothbay.
