In September, the Maine Public Broadcasting Network will televise two showings of the “Getting Away Together” episode filmed in the Boothbay region.

Executive Producer for Television and Special Projects Laura Ozment announced last week the episode will air on Thursday, Sept. 11 at 10 p.m. and again on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m.  

“Getting Away Together” began its second season on July 3 on many PBS stations throughout the country. The series highlights a growing trend of sharing a vacation with friends and family.

From girlfriend getaways to family reunions and milestone celebrations, the series shows diverse groups of real travelers vacationing together in some of the most fascinating destinations and staying at spectacular vacation rental properties across America.

The episode shot in the Boothbay region shares the story of a group of “Cajun” women who spent a week in the coastal Maine community.
