The Register's special section memorializing the Fishermen's Festival was a tribute to those who spent much time and treasure creating a special event that , to me, marked the simultaneous end of winter and beginning of "The Season." I shall especially miss the kids braving icy waters running the lobster crates.

This year there was no Fishermen's Festival to mark the end of winter but, did it matter? You bet it did last Tuesday if you had to use the old snow shovel one more time!

Sic Transit Fishermen's Festival. We shall miss you.
