Memorable stop

    Dear Editor:

On our annual return to Florida, we routinely visit family and friends and make a few side trips. This year, having read of the opening of the Ground Zero Museum, we decided to brave the intimidating New York City traffic and visit the memorial and the museum. It was an inspiring site.

The original footprints of the two buildings have been outlined with a marble parapet which inside has water cascading from top to bottom through a series of openings representing, symbolically, to us at least, the buildings imploding. The top of the parapet is a wide wall which is engraved with the names of all the victims.

It is a grand memorial to those who died and a superb tribute to our American spirit. It was an emotional experience and brought tears to our eyes. A place locked in our memory!
