Mary Owen “Molly” Luke, 100, of Topsham, formerly of Bath, died June 10, 2017 at Clover Manor in Auburn.

She was born in New York City on Jan. 11, 1917, a daughter of William Selkirk and Eleanor Doty (Smith) Owen.

She graduated from Montclair High School and attended Wheaton College in Norton Massachusetts. On June 20, 1936, she married Roger Luke and in 1937 they moved to Bath. Molly was employed as a teacher’s aide and substitute teacher in the Bath Schools. They moved to homes in Topsham and Boothbay in 1970.

She was an associate member and past president of the Bath Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in the 1950s and ’60s, volunteered at the Maine Maritime Museum and was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church where she served on the alter guild for over 40 years and a member of several commissions of the Episcopal Dioceses. She was also a member of St. Columba Episcopal Church in Boothbay Harbor during the summer months. She volunteered for the American Cancer Drives and other charitable drives.

Molly enjoyed traveling with Roger around the world and they spent many summers on their boat sailing along the coast of Maine until Roger’s passing. They also belonged to the Brunswick Skating Club and performed in shows together.

A very special thanks goes out to all the ladies who helped take care of Molly while she was able to stay in her home, to the Clover Manor and their staff who made her stay with them such a safe loving and good experience. To the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and the private duty ladies. To her granddaughter, Lorraine, who was a great help to her Nana, but also a great help to her parents.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roger M. Luke, on Nov. 16, 1996, and one son, William Luke, on Aug. 1, 1997.

She is survived by one son, Sandy Luke and his wife Audrey of Oxford; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
