Presented by the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce
Wed, 03/22/2017 - 8:00am

The Boothbay Region Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to welcome Jenna Howard to join in our Marketing Workshop Series on April 5 to present "Tips for Maine Businesses: Using Instagram & Twitter to Market Your Business." This is the third installment in the Workshop series, which began March 8 in partnership between the Boothbay Register and the Chamber of Commerce. The intent of the workshop series has been to focus on Facebook and other social media markets.

In 60 minutes, this session will explore how customers find, follow, and then support businesses they connect with on Instagram and Twitter and how your business can become a favorite in your market. Both business owners and employees are encouraged to attend if creating a strong Instagram or Twitter following is important to your marketing strategy. This session will particularly appeal to businesses that depend on tourism to thrive, but cover how local businesses that rely on community support can use these tools to grow, too.

By the end of the class, participants will be able to determine which platform is the best use of precious company time, and how to craft a presence that will grow a following and generate business.

Once you learn about how and why to create a successful strategy, beginners who are considering marketing on these platforms are invited to stay from 6-6:30 to learn how to set up accounts and the basics of both platforms.

Jenna Howard is the director of client strategy at Briggs Advertising where she creates marketing strategies for entrepreneurs and companies throughout New England. She holds a master's degree in planning, public policy, and management and loves exploring how organizations can innovate within their markets and within their means. Jenna grew up in Maine, then studied and worked in Italy, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and Brazil before returning to the Maine Coast.

This third installment of the series will take place at Red Cup Coffeehouse on April 5, from 5-6:30 p.m. Space will be limited, so please contact Luise at the Chamber of Commerce at 633-2353 or via email at luise@boothbayharbor.com to register for the event. This presentation will be free to members of the Chamber, or may be attended by non-members for $15 per person.
