Mariner cell tower

    Dear Editor:

The people of Boothbay and visitors to the area just lost a treasure of natural beauty and a feeling of serenity to the cost of technology (“Selectmen approve consent agreement for cell tower”). Can’t some things just be left alone.

Mariner Tower was granted a variance to install a 100-foot-plus tower in a pristine residential zoned area known as Ocean Point, one of the prettiest points on the coast of Maine. I believe it’s all to benefit just a small number of residents and primarily non-resident homes. The actions of anyone involved in allowing this to happen can be summed up in one word: greed.
