Residents of Lincoln County have helped meet the Doree Taylor Charitable Foundation’s $400,000 match to create a new Lincoln County fund at the Maine Community Foundation (MaineCF).

“The foundation is grateful to the individuals and businesses in Lincoln County that committed time, energy, and financial resources to creating this important new resource,” said Steve Rowe, MaineCF president and CEO.

The Fund for Lincoln County is one of 13 MaineCF funds that serve 14 Maine counties through grants from the Community Building Grant Program. In 2015, MaineCF’s county and statewide funds awarded more than $976,000 in grants that benefited organizations in Maine, plus more than $232,000 from donor-advised funds. Nonprofit and public organizations seeking funding for projects that draw on the strengths of the community and foster collaboration are encouraged to apply to the Fund for Lincoln County.

A volunteer committee of Lincoln County residents and business leaders will review grants and make recommendations for funding. The deadline for applying is Feb. 15, 2016. Application and guidelines are available at www.mainecf.org.
