Lincoln County Sheriff's Office: Numerous accidents
Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:
On March 7, Nicholas Reilly, 19, of Topsham was issued a summons for Assault, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.
On March 9, Charles York, 48, of Fairfield was issued a summons for Violating the Home Construction Contract Laws, which took place in Nobleboro, by Detective Scott Hayden.
On March 12, Beth M. Hancock, 29, of Boothbay was arrested on a warrant for Failure to Pay Fines, on Butler Road, Boothbay, by Reserve Deputy Michael Elwell.
On March 13, James A. Badger, Jr., 29, of Portland was arrested on a warrant for a Probation Revocation, after he turned himself into the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Badger was arrested and transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail by Detective Scott Hayden.
On March 7, an accident occurred on Bunker Hill Road in Newcastle involving Joshua W. Bickford, 19, of South China. Mr. Bickford was operating his 2007 Dodge Caravan westbound when he lost control of his vehicle, struck a fence then a tree. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On March 7, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Scott A. Brooks, 51, of Jefferson. Mr. Brooks was operating his 2004 Chevrolet Express southbound on Augusta Road, coming to the intersection of Waldoboro Road, when he slid on icy road conditions and crossed the intersection, striking a large rock head on. Sgt. Mark Bridgham was the investigating officer.
On March 7, an accident occurred on Route 218 in Whitefield involving Dana R. Moody, 63, of East Pittston and Jon Lewis, 55, of Damariscotta. Mr. Moody was operating his 2012 Dodge Ram westbound and Mr. Lewis was following Moody in his 2016 Subaru Impreza. As Mr. Moody attempted to drive up a hill, he lost traction on the snow/icy road and slid back down the hill and struck Lewis’ vehicle. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On March 7, an accident occurred on Route 32 in Bremen involving Julie L. Soucy, 36, of Waldoboro. Ms. Soucy was operating her 2005 Chrysler Sebring southbound and as she attempted to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway, she lost control of her vehicle due to unsafe speed for the road conditions. As a result, her vehicle continued traveling south, crossed the northbound lane and struck a rock wall next to the northbound shoulder, then a tree. Chief Deputy Rand Maker was the investigating officer.
On March 7, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Eric Languet, 38, of South China and Llewellyn C. Manter, 45, of Pittston. Mr. Languet’s 2011 Freightliner was parked along Route 27 unoccupied. Mr. Manter was backing his 2015 Ford out of Dresden Texaco and backed into Languet’s vehicle. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On March 7, an accident occurred on Boothbay Road in Edgecomb involving Carol D. Buxton, 83, of Boothbay Harbor. Ms. Buxton was operating her 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound when she fell asleep, entered the southbound ditch and struck a CMP pole. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On March 8, an accident occurred on Rockland Road in Somerville involving Richard J. Mazurek, 45, of Rockland. Mr. Mazurek was operating his 2014 Cadillac Escalade eastbound when he observed a moose enter the roadway, where he was unable to avoid striking it. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
On March 9, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Samuel J. Gath, 37, of Waterville. Mr. Gath was operating his 2007 Chevrolet 1500 southbound when he hit a patch of ice, which caused his vehicle to enter the northbound lane and roll over into the northbound ditch. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.
On March 9, an accident occurred on Waldoboro Road in Jefferson involving Paul A. Kennedy, 62, of Waldoboro. Mr. Kennedy was operating his 2002 Toyota Tundra northbound when he hit a patch of ice, causing his vehicle to go into the southbound lane, where it ended up in a ditch of the southbound lane and striking a tree. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.
On March 9, an accident occurred on Lower Round Pond Road in Bristol involving James A. Kaiser, 48, of Bristol. Mr. Kaiser was operating his 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound when he lost control of his vehicle going around a corner. As a result, his vehicle slid off the roadway and flipped onto the driver’s side. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
On March 11, an accident occurred on Ridge Road in Newcastle involving Austin J. York, 19, of Nobleboro. Mr. York was operating his 2016 Ford F150 southbound when he stated he fell asleep while driving. As a result, his vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, stuck some small trees, a street sign and went over a stonewall. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On March 11, an accident occurred on State Route 32 in Bristol involving Robert Williams, 76, of Bristol. Mr. Williams was operating his 2014 Ford Expedition northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.
On March 11, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Brittney P. Meservier, 25, of South Portland and Michael A. Nussbaum, 41, of Brunswick. Ms. Meservier had stopped her 2007 Chevrolet Aveo at the stop sign on Eddy Road, at the intersection with Route 1. Mr. Nussbaum was operating his 2016 Volkswagen Passat northbound on Route 1, when Ms. Meservier proceeded to turn left into the path of Nussbaum’s vehicle, causing a collision. Reserve Deputy Dwight Fowles was the investigating officer.
