Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Break-ins investigated

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 330 calls between May 8 and May 15. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 5432 calls for service.

On May 8, Deputy Kevin Dennison was dispatched to a complaint of a burglary/criminal mischief to a summer residence in the Bremen area. Further investigation if leads develop.

On May 11, Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was dispatched to a report of a burglary/criminal mischief to a summer residence in the Bristol area. Further investigation to follow.

On May 12, Sgt. Mark Bridgham was dispatched to a report of a break in at a summer residence on Bremen Long Island. Upon investigating, Sgt. Bridgham, who was assisted by Detective Sgt. Ronald Rollins and Detective Scott Hayden, it was discovered that four other residences have also been broken into. Further investigation to follow.

Summonses

Raymond P. Seiders Jr., 49, of Dresden was issued a summons May 10 for Failure to Comply Sex Offender Registry Act – 1st offense, at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Wiscasset, by Detective Sgt. Ronald Rollins.

Sean A. Boynton, 50, of Jefferson was issued a summons May 10 for Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drug, on Miles Street, Damariscotta, by Deputy Jonathan Colby.

Karl V. Kittridge, 53, of Pittston was issued a Violation Summons and Complaint May 11 for Operating after Suspension, on Augusta Road, Jefferson, by Sgt. Mark Bridgham.

Arrests

Michael A. Steben, 18, of Bristol was arrested May 4 for Theft of Unauthorized Use of Property; Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer and Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, on Huddle Road, Bristol, by Deputy First Class Brian Collamore. This was the result of a theft and motor vehicle crash on 04/28/18 in Bristol.

Roger F. Plourde, 19, of Jefferson was arrested May 4 on a warrant for Burglary to a Motor Vehicle, Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer and Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle, on South Clary Road, Jefferson, by Detective Scott Hayden.  This was the result of a theft and motor vehicle crash on 04/28/18 in Bristol.

Brooke E. Cheney, 26, of Bristol was arrested May 8 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Upper Round Pond Road, Bristol, by Sgt. Aaron Beck, who was assisted by Deputy Caleb Poirier.

Brent L. Ayotte, 44, of Windsor was arrested May 12 on a Kennebec County District Court warrant for Burglary Class C and Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, on Augusta Road, Whitefield, by Reserve Deputy Dwight Fowles.

Accidents

On May 9, an accident occurred on State Route 129 in South Bristol involving Cynthia K. Clifford, 58, of Walpole. Ms. Clifford was operating her 2016 Honda Pilot northbound when she observed a deer enter the roadway from the northbound ditch and struck the deer as it entered the road. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On May 10, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Madeleine E. Weisman, 28, of Bethesda, Maryland and Deborah L. Moore, 65, of Waldoboro. Ms. Moore was operating her 2005 Ford Freestyle northbound and was slowing in traffic, attempting to make a left turn into Mike’s Place gas station. Ms. Weisman was also traveling northbound in her 2011 Toyota Camry when she struck the rear of Moore’s vehicle, causing Weisman to leave the roadway on the right side, where her vehicle then struck a tree. Moore stated she had her left directional on and a separate witness stated the same, however, Weisman stated she didn’t see Moore stopping in traffic. Sgt. Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.

On May 11, an accident occurred on U.S. Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Jonathan W. Perry, 51, of Waldoboro and Jeffrey S. Osborne, 31, of San Francisco, California. Mr. Perry was operating his 2016 Chevrolet Silverado northbound behind Mr. Osborne’s 2004 Int’l Harvester truck when a solar panel mounted on Osborne’s roof detached and struck the front driver corner of Perry’s vehicle. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On May 12, an accident occurred on Blinn Hill Road in Dresden involving Christopher H. Hastings, 50, of Rapid City, South Dakota. Mr. Hastings was operating his 2010 Nissan Pathfinder when he became confused by his passenger’s directions and failed to negotiate a curve. As a result, his vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and came to rest on the right side of the vehicle. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On May 12, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Lynn B. Kimball, 78, of New Harbor. Ms. Kimball was operating her 2013 Toyota Prius southbound and due to a possible medical issue, Kimball crossed the center line, where her vehicle then went off the left side of the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On May 13, an accident occurred on Main Road on Westport Island involving Amanda E. Wade, 34, o Westport Island. Ms. Wade was operating her 2015 BMW 3 southbound when several deer crossed the roadway in front of her and she was unable to avoid striking one. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
