The Animal House in Damariscotta is proud to announce a new event: “The Fur Ball: An Evening to Benefit the Lincoln County Animal Shelter.”

The Fur Ball is scheduled for the beautiful Darrow’s Barn at RoundTop Farm on Business Route 1 in Damariscotta on Saturday, June 16, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The event will highlight dogs, cats and other companion animals at the Lincoln County Animal Shelter who are waiting for homes, and will raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption and funding.

The Fur Ball events include the Mr. and Mrs. Maine Dog Pageant, with categories in eveningwear and swimwear, judged by local teens. The pageant is open to all breeds, limited to 12 participants, which need to be pre-registered through The Animal House. Prizes will be offered for the winner.

The evening also includes a live auction. Auction items include a package from Atlantic Veterinary Care, a private session with a well-renowned dog behaviorist, pet food and supplies, a Pea Pawd necklace by PeaPod Jewelry, an original design from Stone Circle Design at The Creative Turtle, six months of pet food, gift baskets and pet supplies.

King Eider’s Pub will cater the event. The signature drink for the evening will be the muttini. Limited edition muttini glasses will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $25 per person or $40 per couple and are available for purchase at The Animal House, the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, King Eider’s Pub and at the door. There are a limited number of tickets and this event is expected to sell out.

The Fur Ball is presented by The Animal House and sponsored by: Natura, Merrick Pet Care, Stella & Chewy’s, King Eider’s Pub and Reny’s.

All proceeds will be donated to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter in Edgecomb. To learn more about the Lincoln County Animal Shelter, go to www.lcas.me.
