Let's hear Lewis' appeal

Mon, 12/08/2014 - 8:45am

Dear Editor:

As long-term retail business owners in Boothbay Harbor, we would hope that the board of selectmen hear the appeal of our former Public Works director, Mr. Jody Lewis, in a timely and open fashion.

It is our belief and experience as local merchants who have benefited from Mr. Lewis's services over the years that Mr. Lewis has been a loyal and highly dedicated employee of the town of Boothbay Harbor for nearly 20 years.

We would kindly urge that the selectmen hear Mr. Lewis's appeal of the case without delay, and to please stop spending taxpayers' dollars on attorneys.

In light of Mr. Lewis's long-term dedication and loyalty to the town and its residents, it is disingenuous for the town to continue its postponement of his appeal.

We appreciate your consideration in our request.
