Kathi Nordone to perform at the Fourth of July celebration

Kathi Nordone's latest album, “Greater Than Gold” features the song, “Village by the Sea,” a song about hope and faith and people coming together to build a steeple, about “The Word” being a foundation in carrying us through. The song was written on her 50 dollar piano “Beauty” from Miles thrift store. Nordone hopes to raise spirit enough to help her on this journey, to print and distribute her songs.

Nordone is one of the musical performers scheduled for the Boothbay Civic Association's Fourth of July celebration on the Boothbay Common – on Monday, July 4, of course. She will be performing at 3 p.m. with great sound and with bass player Chuck Mcgregor and guitarist Jack Mears (1notejack).

Through her delicate west Texas, yet soulful Westchester, New York voice, Nordone strums her stories, at times unearthing pearls of truth. Nordone's songs don't burn rubber on a dead end road going nowhere fast, no vision, no hope. Rather, they remind one of a rich life. One that's possible despite all the voices telling you it's not, hope bigger than the punches that come out of the blue, “in the garden sometimes they hit you”, but not too often.

Nordone, the artist, has a few small pieces being exhibited at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation and has shown at Pemaquid, River Arts and Rising Tide. For more on Nordone, visit https://kathinordone.wix.com/kathi.

The Fourth of July Celebration’s music lineup also includes ... the Boothbay Region Community Band plays the National Anthem and other patriotic selections beginning at 10 a.m. from the gazebo;  Arthur Webster will play until around 12:30 p.m., followed by Gabe Tonon until 1:30, Rick Limouge, 1:30-2:30 p.m. There will also be craft booths, children’s games and a chicken BBQ!
