Joshua Beal, 11, son of Danny and Molly Beal, caught a 38.5-inch striped bass while aboard the Red Hook with Capt. Mark Stover on Tuesday, July 22.

It was Joshua’s first striper and the only one caught on the trip on Tuesday. Joshua’s younger brother, Gordon, caught the biggest mackerel of the day at 12 inches.
