Tickets are selling quickly for the heartwarming story of George Bailey, set in the 1940s small community of Bedford Falls, as Heartwood Theater presents the second annual staged radio theater style performance of “Merry Christmas, George Bailey!”on Dec. 1 and 2 in the Poe Theater, at Lincoln Academy.

The original 1940s’ Lux Radio Theater Show, adapted from Frank Capra’s movie “It’s a Wonderful Life!” will be performed by 20 local actors of all ages, attired in period costume on a “live” radio set, including an onstage table of innovative Foley sound effects. Clever and humorous “singing commercials” showcase the local business sponsors, during “commercial breaks.”

And of course, a delightful component of live radio theater is audience participation, with signs that light up for murmuring, laughing and even making sounds of an angry mob.  A festive holiday set and pre-show culinary treats round out this feast for the senses. Cast list and full details available at www.heartwoodtheater.org.

With only three performances for this beloved production, tickets are going quickly.   Reservations strongly suggested, by phoning 207-563-1373 or emailing info@heartwoodtheater.org
