Tue, 03/06/2018 - 8:30am

Join area businesses next Thursday, March 15, for a free Maine PTAC workshop on how to build your business and decrease risk through subcontracting opportunities. The Procurement Technical Assistance Center works with companies interested in selling their products or services to local, state or federal government agencies, either as prime contractors or subcontractors. The “Subcontracting Strategies For Small Businesses” workshop will be presented from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission, 297 Bath Road, in Wiscasset.

MPTAC Counselor Bryan Wallace will also discuss what subcontracting means and how to become a subcontractor; the federal government’s policy on subcontracting; understanding the contractual relationship; and how to identify prime contractors in Maine. Wallace can assist companies to identify opportunities, develop marketing strategies, and guide you through the complex process of government registrations and assist you in becoming a qualified government contractor. In addition, Maine PTAC can also assist with proposal preparation and post-award assistance.

To register for this no-cost workshop, visit https://maineptac.ecenterdirect.com (click on Training Events) or www.lcrpc.org, email Bryan Wallace at bwallace@emdc.org or call 951-0644.
