Jerry Huber of Boothbay ran the Boston Marathon in 2 hours, 53 minutes, and 5 seconds on Monday. He finished 1,216th overall in the field of 30,000.

Huber, 32, finished 10th in a field of 102 Maine runners.

Charles Ault, 60, of Damariscotta, formerly of Boothbay Harbor, ran the 26.2 mile course in four hours, 11 minutes and 2 seconds.

Ault placed 20,698 overall and 90th for Mainers.

For the runners, the poor weather conditions proved challenging.

“The weather was pretty brutal,” Huber said. “It was cold, rainy and windy throughout the race.”

Huber has competed in marathons since 2004. He plans on running in the Pineland Trail Running Festival 50-mile ultra-marathon in New Gloucester next month. He also plans on running in the Maine Marathon in October.

For Ault, this was his 10th and final marathon. His future road racing schedule will be solely devoted to middle distance events.
