New Hope for Women (NHFW) is pleased to be partnering with individuals, community groups and area businesses in an effort to make the holiday season extra special for a child or adult affected by domestic violence.

A purple glowing tree in the NHFW Wiscasset office is covered with tags including the age of a young boy or girl or adult and their Christmas wish. Some wishes are for fun items, while others are for blankets, clothing and other needed basics. The Tree includes wishes from NHFW’s entire service area of Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Knox and Waldo counties.

Community members are invited to visit the NHFW Wiscasset office at 41 Water Street on Thursdays and Fridays between Noon and 5:00 p.m. and choose a tag. Unwrapped gifts (with tags, ribbon and wrapping paper) should be delivered to the Wiscasset office prior to December 16. NHFW will ensure deliveries are made in time for Christmas.

New Hope for Women offers support to people in Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox and Waldo counties affected by domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. It also provides important educational resources to assist our communities in creating a safer and healthier future.
