Hepburn twins, Morgan Crocker named McDonald's all stars

Boothbay Region High School senior basketball players, Evan Hepburn, John Hepburn, and Morgan Crocker, were named to the 2015 Maine McDonald's High School Senior All-Star boys and girls Western Maine Class C/D teams, respectively, on Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Lady Seahawk Coach Tanner Grover will co-coach the girls all stars with Heidi Deery of Rangeley.

The Hepburn twins will play alongside the following Western Maine Class C and D players against the Eastern Maine C/D all stars at Husson University on March 14: Jared Eastman of Buckfield, Kaine Hutchins and Tyler Frost, both of Dirigo, Brandon Ouellette of Forest Hills, Nat Crocker of Hall-Dale, Johnny Yim of Lisbon, Harry Baker-Connick of Waynflete, Taylor Morang and Matt Sekerak, both of Winthrop. The team will be coached by Todd MacArthur of Winthrop and Luke Hartwell of Valley.

Crocker will join the following Western Maine all stars on March 14: Jessica Conant and Kelsey Hutchins, both of Dirigo, Nicole Pelletier of Hall-Dale, Bronte Elias of Madison, Abby Dubois, Haley Plante and Mackenzie Rague, all of Old Orchard, Seve Deery-DeRaps of Rangeley, Faith Grady of St. Dom's and Helen Gray-Bauer of Waynflete.

John Hepburn averaged 15.9 points per game, 7.4 rebounds per game, and 1.5 blocks per game this past season. Evan Hepburn's stats this past season were 10.2 ppg., 4.1 rpg., and 2.4 steals per game.

Both were named to the Mountain Valley Conference all star first team, both were four-year starters for the Seahawks, and both were members of the Seahawks' 2012-2013 Western Maine championship team. John finished his career with 1,189 points.

Crocker averaged 14.5 points and 2.5 steals per game this past season.

The senior All-Stars were chosen in January in a statewide high school basketball coaches’ vote conducted by the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches.

An awards banquet for the all stars will be held on March 13 at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor and a full day of all-star games will be played at Husson University the following day. The girls C/D game will start at 1 p.m. and the boys C/D game will follow at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets for the games may be purchased at the door on Saturday, March 14, and are good for all four games.
