Help will be appreciated

    Dear Editor:

I wish to give an update on Sheryl Frydrych.

As many know, she had open heart surgery a few months back to remove an aneurysm from her aorta. The operation went OK but she had a stroke afterwards, which affected her left side. When she was finally able to come home, she suffered another setback — her beloved dog, Ziggy, died.

In October, Sheryl had to have another operation to remove another aneurysm. About four hours after the operation, she had to be taken back into surgery because she started bleeding.

Her sister-in-law, Sandy Nieman, was diagnosed with stage 5 breast cancer. Sandy could no longer help Sheryl because she is now fighting her own battle.

During one of Sheryl’s operations, something was found in her brain so she had to go back to Boston again.

This family has gone through so much.

Sheryl isn’t out of the woods yet, as she still has a very long road of therapy ahead. But she is a fighter, much like her sister-in-law, Sandy.

Sheryl has therapy twice a week, but sometimes can’t make it because she doesn’t have a ride.

If anyone out there would like to volunteer to help her get to her therapy sessions, I know she would very much appreciate it.

She is also struggling with medical bills. If anyone would like to help with donations, they can stop by the Camden National Bank (formerly Bank of Maine) in Boothbay Harbor. There is an account set up in Sheryl’s name, and also in my name.

Anything anyone can do will be greatly appreciated.

My thoughts and prayers are with both Sheryl and Sandy.
