Heartwood Regional Theater Company and Lincoln Academy will hold auditions for “Man of La Mancha,” their annual fall youth musical collaboration, on Wednesday, June 6, from 2:45-5 p.m., in the Poe Theater at Lincoln Academy.

“Man of La Mancha” is a classic Broadway musical (1964) requiring music, puppetry, dance and imaginative storytelling by a strong ensemble. It is based, in part, on the classic work, “The Ingenious Nobleman Sir Quixote of La Mancha” by Miguel de Cervantes (1605).  The production period runs approximately from Labor Day through Nov. 10.  (Exact dates TBD by July 2018.)   Six to eight fully staged public performances are planned with orchestra, choreographer, vocal coaching and direction.

Principals will be required to learn lines and music over the summer.

Students entering grades 9 -12 in fall, 2018, are invited to audition. The production team will also consider students entering 7th and 8th grade, who have very strong performance skills. To audition, students should present a short song, with a karaoke track on a device or a thumb drive. Songs should be 1 - 2 minutes, max. Auditioners will be taken in the order they arrive and sign in, beginning at 2:45 p.m.

Students interested in lighting, costumes, set, sound and props should email us with their interest, as well.
