Boothbay Region High School held a pre-February vacation pep rally celebrating the sports teams competing throughout the long winter season, including Nordic skiing, wrestling, cheering, swimming and basketball.
The BRHS Winter Carnival, supposed to be held this week, was postponed until after winter vacation Feb. 20-24 due to the storms. Friday’s rally included competitions featuring fruit, pies, hula hoops, makeup, blindfolds, empty tissue boxes filled with ping pong balls, rubber boots, frozen tee shirts and free throws. Volunteers from the bleachers gave it their best and a good time was had by all.
