After showing steady improvement in the last few games, the Seahawks ran up against a stone wall at home Monday against the 6-0 Hall-Dale Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs overpowered the Seahawks, starting in the first inning when they batted around scoring 10 runs against starting pitcher Steve Reny and reliever Brett Hallowell.

Hall-Dale took a 23-0 lead after two innings. The combined pitching of Logan Dupont and Dean Jackman kept the Seahawks scoreless until the third. Eli Gudroe slowed the Hall-Dale attack in the top of the third holding the Bulldogs to a single run, as coach Bob Sinclair brought in his substitutes. Fox Elder and Cameron Crocker put the Seahawks on the scoreboard in the third, Crocker coming home when Jay Hasch stole second base.

Jacob Wilson showed versatility in the infield, pitching in the second inning then playing at third and first and catching for the Seahawks.

Josey Smith exhibited her skills with the glove, fielding a ground ball for an out in the fourth inning.

Sinclair credited his team's success to having diversity at all positions. "We have a lot of depth in pitching."

Hall-Dale rose to 7-0 with the win. The Seahawks fell to 1-7 with the loss.
