Letter to the Editor

Great veterinary care

    Dear Editor:

I wanted to write a letter to the Boothbay region community to let them know what a true gem they have in the veterinary care they have right on their peninsula.

As those who know me are aware, I have moved to the Sunshine State of Florida, and I have my two dogs, Maggie Mae and Spike, here with me. Spike has been diagnosed by Dr. Dean Domeyer as having epilepsy and is on much medication to keep him from going into seizures.

I took them to a new vet here in Florida, and it has been a continuing nightmare from day one. After his first visit, Spike started more seizures, having 12 in a 36-hour period. The vet here was no help, and thus, my first phone call to Dr. Dean. He pulled us through it and we were hopefully back on track. Then I went to get Spike’s meds, only to find they had given me the wrong dosage, and Spike had more seizures, nine in a 48-hour period. Guess what, more conversations with Dr. Dean. Again, he has saved us! Now the vet here wants to quadruple the price of his meds, so another email to Dr. Dean.

Boothbay Veterinary Care always goes above and beyond any expectation for the care of their patients. I am indebted to them, and only hope that this letter will bring to everyone’s attention, what I have found to be a true gem in the midst of a truly beautiful and amazing community! Thank you Dr. Dean and crew for your caring support!
