Dear Editor:

The Community Center volunteers and I would like to thank the Boothbay Region Lions Club for sponsoring a turkey dinner fundraising event for the Center. It is always nice to work collaboratively with other organizations and we are thrilled to be making so many new friends.

Special thanks to Duane Lewis, chef extraordinaire; Karen Nickerson for orchestrating the event; and Tom Nickerson who added the finishing touch of good old Maine humor during the 50-50 raffle and baked goods sale.

I, personally, want to thank all of the Lions Club members and the Community Center volunteers who helped to set up, prepare food, act as servers, and clean up. At the end of the night, the Lions very generously presented the Community Center with a whopping $850!

In closing, we want to thank the people in our great community who were our guests for dinner. We are happy to have their support.
