    Dear Editor:

    Saturday, July 26 was a beautiful day for over 200 participants in the 5th annual Lobster Roll 5k. It was a successful event with all proceeds going toward the construction of a community track. Thank you to all the participants who ran and walked to support this effort. Thanks to all of the businesses for sponsoring this year’s race.

    Gold sponsors include Lincoln Medical Partners, First Federal Savings & Loan, Glidden Point Oyster Company, Boothbay Craft Brewery and an anonymous sponsor. Silver sponsors include Balmy Days Cruises, The First, Knickerbocker Group, J. Edward Knight and Colby & Gale.

    Bronze sponsors include Brown’s Wharf, Flagship, E.A. Giles & Son, Bath Savings, Grover’s Hardware, Kennebec Equipment, Mid-Maine Restoration, John’s Lawns, and Tidewater Construction.

Thank you to Bob Hasch, Larry Brown, Pat Higgins, the Boothbay Harbor Police Dept., and the 30-plus community members who directed runners and motorist to help ensure everyone’s safety. Student volunteers included Hannah Morley, Olivia Paolillo, Tally Gosselin and Owen Dionne, who worked selling T-shirts, cleaning up, and delivering race day registrations to the timer. Thanks to Jonne Trees for videotaping the event and Bill Pearson for reporting for the Boothbay Register. And last but not least, thank you to the motorists who practiced patience as participants traveled the course.
