Great night

    Dear Editor:

I'd like to thank all of the people from our community who came out to support our Hootenanny on March 6. Over 200 people attended and it was a great night for the Opera House. Thank you, Cathy Sherrill, for doing so much to make this a great venue for music.

To all the sponsors: Robinson's Wharf, Slick's, Timber's Tire, Hawke Motors, Harold Bishop Agency, Karen's Hideaway, Shoreline Heating, Pat Farrin and Sons, Page's Towing and Freedom Auto; you all are great and thanks for the support.

Thank you to the musicians who took the time to play some music and have some fun with us: my brother Bob Blackman, my granddaughter Natalie Goozie, my wife Karen Blackman (we did a duet of a rewritten song and I got a lot of compliments; when you love where you live, why not let everyone know), my buddy Mark Stover (so glad to have you this year), Ronnie Arsenault, Amanda Andrews, the saw lady Janice Moore (I can't say enough about this lady, she brought the house down again), Jeff Townsend, Alex Jackimovicz, Sally Spofford Carroll (despite being ill, she got up there and sang like a bird as she always does), the Sweatin' Bullets band with Billy Rogers, Blaine Blackman, Bill Rice, Skip Morgan and Jason Arsenault (you guys get better every time I hear you and the song selections were great), to the boys I play with, the Murky Water Band, Timmy Sprague (so glad I hooked up with you), my buddy Peter Allen (I love playing music with this man), and Dick "Big Dog" Spofford, an all-around great musician who loves what he does.

I'm looking forward to next year and I've already got two new performers lined up for next year's show.

I guess we must have done something right again. Thank you all.
