Dear Editor:

On Sept. 24, the Boothbay Baptist Church held Car Care, a free safety check of vehicles to help widows, single moms and those with financial needs to prepare their cars for winter.

This outreach was successful thanks to our team of volunteers andthe generosity of several businesses in our community. We want to thank Hawke Motors, Good 'N You, and G & G Towing for their donations of certificates for free oil changes and free state inspections. Also, TDR Auto Supply offered discounts for fluids and materials.

We appreciate our local businesses, and we know those who attended our event appreciate them as well.
