The region got a small facelift on Good Friday, April 18, as dozens of Boothbay Region High School students cleaned up properties, lugged items, took water samples and more during the school’s annual Community Service Day.

Rakes were the most visible tools, as the harsh winter dropped many limbs, leaves and twigs on the ground that needed to be cleaned up.

The following locations were the beneficiaries of the students’ work: Boothbay Region High School, Opera House, Boothbay Fire Department (students broke down the ice rink), Boothbay Region Historical Society, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Boothbay Green, St. Andrews Village, Lincoln County Animal Shelter, Barrett’s Park, Boothbay Region YMCA, Southport Memorial Library, Boothbay Railway Village, St. Andrews Thrift Shop and West Harbor Pond (water sampling).
