Go easy on the Governor

Tue, 09/13/2016 - 11:00am

Dear Editor:

I am no great fan of Governor Paul LePage, nor do I often agree with him, but I am appalled at his present situation. An abused and homeless street kid, he has risen to the highest office in the state. Would those who seek to remove him want to “walk a mile in his moccasins?” Are they capable of it?

It would be far better to let him serve out the remainder of his term rather than pursue impeachment, an impossibility anyway with Republican opposition. This state has limited resources that are better directed to the needs of its people. This whole scandal cannot help but have a chastening effect on him. A passionate and impulsive person, he reacted in the heat of the moment, and I think now realizes his error.

Hopefully he will seek some form of anger management and others will be more forgiving.
