Get out and vote for Harmon

    Dear Editor:

Attention Boothbay residents! A storm is brewing! A political storm where we have two completely different views of the direction that our peninsula is going to head in the future.

On one side you have a small and very vocal group that has made their money in other states and sold out to retire in beautiful Boothbay, Maine. They have made it clear that Boothbay’s fragile economy is of little or no importance and if they can have their way, would undoubtedly shut down all of the hard work that has been put into play in recent years.

On the other side we have a group that has worked tirelessly to stimulate the economy, bring some hope for keeping Boothbay a place to not only retire (if you want) but also make a living as well as raise a family.

I was born in Boothbay, have lived here my entire life and my wife and I are raising our children here. That being said, I have watched the town thrive as well as struggle. I’ve watched as the years go by and classmates are shuffled across Route 1 due to the rising price of real estate and the seasonal opportunity for making a living.

It’s time to take a stand and figure out which direction you want your hometown to head in. Please don’t sit on your couch and think your vote isn’t going to matter. Your will be making a very big mistake.

With that being said, I’m going to close this letter out with a brief reference for Dale Harmon, a man I’ve known my entire life. We have had many conversations about the direction he wants to see us go in as a community. He has worked very hard to make this area a desirable destination to visit, retire, make a living and even raise a family. Everyone in this area needs to rise up on May 7. Let’s get to the voting booth and keep our little town moving forward. My vote is going for Dale Harmon.

    Thanks for reading.
