French feast at Harbor Theater

Story Location:
185 Townsend Avenue
Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538
United States

Celebrate the end of January at Harbor Theater on Thursday, Jan. 25, with a French feast starting at 6:30 p.m., just 30 minutes before the screening of “Paris Can Wait.”

Eventide Specialties will provide French wine, cheese and baguettes, and Harbor Theater will offer desserts — including eclairs — and coffee.

Directed by Eleanor Coppola, the film is a feast for the eye and the palette. Anne (Diane Lane) Lockwood is at a crossroads in her life. Long married to a successful, driven, inattentive movie producer, Michael (Alec Baldwin), she unexpectedly finds herself taking a car trip from Cannes to Paris with Jacques Clement (Arnaud Viard), a business associate of her husband.

What should be a seven-hour drive turns into a carefree two-day adventure replete with diversions involving picturesque sights, fine food and wine, humor, wisdom and romance, reawakening Anne's senses and giving her a new lust for life. Diane Lane is irresistible in this delightful love-triangle that co-stars the French countryside.

The film (only) will repeat on Friday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. - all seats are $6.

“If you’re longing for a delicious romantic romp to take your mind off the world going to hell in hand basket, ‘Paris Can Wait’ is it.” - Peter Travers for Rolling Stone
